Downtown Los Angeles is a neighborhood that never stops moving. Whether people are rushing to work, lining up for coffee at Urth Caffé, or heading to a gallery opening, the energy is undeniable. At ESTLR, located at 431 S Hewitt St., we love being in the heart of the Arts District, but we know that parking in this area can feel like a sport of its own.

To help you avoid circling the block and ensure you make it to the whiteboard on time, we’ve put together this definitive guide to navigating the neighborhood.

For our members and guests, the most convenient option is our limited free on-site parking. Because we are located in such a high-demand area, these spots are available strictly on a first-come, first-serve basis. We do not take reservations for parking, so we highly recommend arriving 10–15 minutes before your class starts to see if a spot is open. This extra buffer time not only helps you secure a spot but also gives you a chance to mobilize and prepare for the session ahead.

If our on-site lot is full, don't worry—the Arts District is home to several reliable paid options just steps away from our front door. For 2025, the local rates remain some of the most reasonable in DTLA. The lot at 351 S Hewitt St. is just a one-minute walk away, with daily rates typically ranging from $5 to $15.

Another excellent option is 405 S Hewitt St., which is a favorite for our mid-day athletes as the daily max often stays around $5 to $7 during the week. Rates can increase to $7-$10 on busy Fridays & Saturdays, though rates fluctuate with events and demand in the area.

For those who plan to stay in the neighborhood after their workout to work from a coffee shop or explore the local breweries, 740 E Temple St. offers exceptional long-term value. It features a 10-hour rate for approximately $5, allowing you to "park once and explore" for the rest of the day. If you prefer to be closer to the Traction Avenue hub, the lot at 830 Traction Ave (CG Lot #1004) is a five-minute walk from ESTLR, with rates generally sitting at $3 per 20 minutes.

When parking on the street, remember that Los Angeles is strict about curb colors.

• Red curbs are always off-limits
• Green curbs are reserved for short-term parking (usually 15–20 minutes)
• Yellow curbs are commercial loading zones, but in many parts of the Arts District, these become open to the public after 6:00 PM or on Sundays—just be sure to check the specific stencil on the curb to confirm.

Lastly, always check for street sweeping signs; these tickets are common and can be an expensive end to a great workout.

Timing is the secret to stress-free parking in the Arts District. The "Golden Window" is typically early morning between 6:00 AM and 8:00 AM, when street spots on Hewitt or Traction are most plentiful. If you arrive and the street looks full, try our "Loop Strategy": head from Hewitt to 4th Street, turn onto Alameda, and then back through Traction. This loop passes three major lots and often catches people vacating street spots as they head to work.
