What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is constantly varied, functional movement, done at high intensity. In simple terms, this means we do a variety of workouts, using movements from gymnastics (body weight movements), weightlifting, and cardio (rowing, running, skiing, and biking). Each workout is performed at a high intensity to make maximal fitness gains.

What do I wear?

Wear anything you are comfortable working out or exercising in. Make sure they are the clothes you are OK sweating in. There are tons of CrossFit-specific clothes and shoes, but you do not need any of that for Foundations. If you are looking to upgrade your clothes to something a little more CrossFit specific, we can point you in the right direction.

What if I have done CrossFit before?

We would love to welcome you into our gym. “Doing CrossFit before” means you’ve done an introductory course at another CrossFit gym, or have at least 3 months of CrossFit experience without significant time off. If you’re not sure where you fall, reach out to us and we can set you up with a refresher/test session.

What if I have an injury?

We are sorry to hear, but that’s but not a problem! CrossFit can be adjusted, scaled, or modified to fit anyone’s needs. In Foundations, we can come up with a plan on how to accommodate your injuries. In addition, we have in-house physical therapists to provide assessments and recommendations if you like.

I've heard CrossFit is dangerous, is that true?

Any sort of hard, strenuous training can be unsafe if it’s performed incorrectly. That’s why we created Foundations. Through these intro classes, you are learning the correct way to move and how to properly approach the workouts. Once in classes, you are under the watchful eye of a coach(es) whose sole purpose is to push you outside your comfort zone while maintaining a safe environment. CrossFit done correctly is not dangerous.

My significant other is interested as well, can they come?

Absolutely! We can do partner Foundations sessions for couples or friends. It’s still ($199.00) per person for Foundations, but after that, talk to us – you might qualify for a couples membership discount!
